How Much Money Can I Make With Rakeback?
Is Rakeback Profitable For Me?
The answer to that question obviously depends on how much poker you play, but there’s more to it than that. The amount of rakeback you can earn with a good deal is literally unlimited. And trust me, you will be surprised when you find out how much rake you actually pay to poker sites.
Those little pieces of rake taken out of every pot add up to serious money in the long term. In fact, I know of a high stakes heads-up player who paid a little over $78,000 in rake in less than a year. Granted this was distributed across more than half a million hands, but still. Wow.
Here are a couple examples to give you an idea of how much you can earn with rakeback. These figures are pretty accurate but they aren’t exact. Consider these numbers a close approximation of what you will make with a rakeback deal.
Play Time: 3 hours a day
Number of Tables: 2 tables at a time
Stakes: $.25/.50 No Limit 6-Max
Rakeback Deal: 30%
Your Monthly Rakeback: $243
That’s not too bad for a small stakes poker player. That rakeback payment alone is worth nearly five extra buyins every month. Now, let’s say you move up in stakes and become a bit more of a grinder in the following example:
Play Time: 4 hours a day
Number of Tables: 4 tables at a time
Stakes: $1/$2 No Limit 6-Max
Rakeback Deal: 30%
Your Monthly Rakeback: $1,786
Keep in mind that this is assuming you play for 3 or 4 hours a day every day of the week. If you take time off, you won’t earn as much rakeback. But still, this should give you an idea of how much rake you can earn by playing poker at a decent rate. Should you ever decide to go professional or play at higher stakes, you’ll bring in even larger rakeback payments.
The best part about it all is that these rakeback payments are given to you in addition to your regular poker winnings. If you don’t like cashing out from your bankroll but you still like to buy TVs or whatever, you can just use your rakeback payments and keep your bankroll right where it is.
Another option is to use your rakeback money to grow the bankroll and move up in stakes. Just be careful, though, because the competition becomes a little tougher every time you move up in stakes. If you move up before you are mentally prepared to do so, it can lead to some nasty surprises.
No matter what you like to do with your money, it’s pretty clear that rakeback is necessary for any serious poker player. Heck, I would even recommend it to complete newbies as well. Even losing players can benefit from getting some of their rake back every month. Anyone who plays poker needs a rakeback deal. There simply isn’t a reason to pass up on the opportunity.
