Poker professionals and celebrity poker players are known for their charitable ways. Pros and celebrities alike compete in special charity tournaments or host events to benefit specific charities. The All In For Hope Celebrity Poker Tournament is the next charity tournament to take place and is set for May 31st.
The City of Hope will host the event in Los Angeles and is being held to help raise money for the City of Hope Research and Medical Center. The Creative Artists Agency will host the event which will take place on May 31st.
The tournament will feature celebrities and poker pros, all of which will pay a $500 buy-in to be able to compete. The event will also have re-buys during the first tournament hour and the price for this will be $250. Rob Light, the honoree of this year’s Spirit of Life, will be hosting the event and the top prize includes a seat to a 2013 WSOP event. The winner will also receive luxury accommodations during the event and will be offering up a quarter of any winnings to the charity.
Several players have confirmed their participation in the event including Jamie Gold, a former World Series of Poker main Event winner. Celebrities such as Camryn Manheim, Mimi Rogers, Joe Mangariella and Tony Danza have confirmed they will compete as well. Players who make the final table will be able to earn special gifts donated to the event. Players at the final table will all earn a watch by TW Steel, except for the top two finishers.
The event will also host an auction which will raise money for the charity. The prizes up for grabs during the auction include: Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival tickets, Ray Romano Meet and Greet in Las Vegas, Cabo trip and so much more!
