This weekend, the state of Wisconsin will be hosting a stop on the Mid-States Poker Tour. The first two stops of the new season will take place at the Ho-Chunk Gaming Wisconsin Dells and this weekend, organizers are hoping to break a record.
The tour has stopped at the casino three previous times and each time, a new state record has been set for the largest poker prize pool. If the event goes as planned, the event will set a new record this weekend. Several pros and amateurs will be competing in the event to be able to take advantage of what the tournament has to offer.
Bryan Mileski is the founder and operator of the Mid-Stakes Poker Tour and he stated that the tour always looks forward to returning to Wisconsin. Mileski stated that the last three stops on the tour set the record in the state for the largest prize pool and the tour believes that this will happen again in Season five.
Players can currently qualify for the event at the casino and now the officials state that the qualifier numbers are quite high and the poker room manager says the room is energetic and players are looking forward to the event. As the event is set to begin soon, players are anticipating how many players will actually compete.
The event actually kicks off today at 4pm and this will be Day 1a of the tournament. Day 1b will take place tomorrow and players return to the felt to see who will earn the tour stop win on Sunday. Both pros and amateurs will be heading to the casino in the hopes of earning the title win. It will be interesting to see if the event is able to beat previous prize pool records as they have every year the tournament has taken place at the casino located in Wisconsin.
